David Bronner was 28 years old when he accepted the top job at the Retirement Systems of Alabama. 160 other names were submitted prior to his. Today, nearly fifty years later, Dr Bronner leads one of the world’s largest pension funds and has done more to positively shape the image of the state of Alabama than any other single person. He’ll never say this about himself, but he was pegged as a savant from an early age and as his talent bloomed, the state and the state’s retirees were lifted along as well.
